UPDATED GUIDELINES FOR FACE COVERINGS AT VMCC:

Effective Tuesday, June 8, 2021, the face mask mandate was lifted for Marion County.  Valley Mills Christian Church will no longer require face coverings for indoor gatherings, facility usage and worship services, however, if you personally feel the need to continue wearing a face covering (or have not been vaccinated) you are welcome to do so.

As always, if you are ill or have any symptoms at all, we encourage you to please stay home and worship with us through our online services on our Facebook page and YouTube channel.

UPDATE 7-3-20:

Dear Valley Mills Christian Church Family,

Below is an update regarding face coverings and info. about this Sunday, July 5th.

COVID-19 update:   In compliance with the Marion County order issued July 2nd, beginning July 9th, all gatherings, facility usage, and worship services at Valley Mills Christian Church will require face coverings (age 2 and older) when attending in-person services and on-campus activities.  Additionally, in light of a previous statement put out by the Mayor’s office in June that applies to church gatherings specific, we are asking that those gathering for worship, age 2 and older, begin wearing face coverings this Sunday, July 5th.  We know these are challenging, and somewhat confusing times, but to be in compliance with community standards, and to help mitigate the spread of the virus, we feel these changes are necessary.

Church Reopening Update:
Sunday, June 21st
9:00 & 10:45AM

We’re excited to resume corporate worship at the church building beginning on Sunday, June 21st!  We will hold our normal service times of 9:00AM and 10:45AM.  We can’t wait to see you and worship together with you ALL again!!

Safety will be a top priority for all of us with several things set in place:  hand sanitizing stations, alternate seating configurations in the Worship Center, additional areas to view the service, alternate ways to participate in communion and our time of offering, omission of bulletins passed out, and face masks will be recommended. We also ask that you continue to respect safe distancing guidelines from others not in your family.  If you are ill or have any symptoms at all, we ask that you please stay home and worship with us through our online services.

We will continue to offer online worship (on Facebook LIVE at Facebook.com/Valleymillscc) at 9:00 and 10:45AM and invite you to worship with us in that way if you do not feel comfortable attending yet or have health issues that prevent you from doing so.

Our Valley Kids area (children’s programming) will not be held at this time, however, children can attend and sit with their families in the Worship Center for either service.

Remember, we are here for you! If you need anything, simply reach out by one of the many ways we’ve set in place to talk with one of our staff or elders or to share your prayer requests. (See more details below on ways to reach us!)

We pray God continues to give you a spirit of peace, increase your faith, and provide for your every need.

If you have a need to come by the church (to drop off your tithes and offerings or drop off food or household items for the Food Pantry), please contact us at 317-856-3766 or by email at info@valleymillscc.org to arrange a time for us to meet you.

Update 5-1-20:

As we all miss meeting together in the church building, our greatest concern is for the safety and well-being of our VMCC family, our guests, and our community. We want to honor and respect our governmental authorities and the advice of noted medical experts as to when it is safe to return to corporate worship. We also want to be cautious as to when we begin meeting in person, so we can avoid any setbacks.

For now, we plan to continue holding our VMCC services online only until further notice. We’ll also continue offering online experiences for our Valley Kids and Valley Students. This has worked well and has allowed us to remain safe while still being able to worship and experience God’s presence at home.

We encourage you to join us online each Sunday at 10AM as we continue our “Unshakable Hope” sermon series!

We are here for you! If you need anything, simply reach out by one of the many ways we’ve set in place to talk with one of our staff or elders or to share your prayer requests. (See more details below on ways to reach us!)

In the coming weeks, as the situation evolves and regulations change, we will provide additional updates. We pray God continues to give you a spirit of peace, increase your faith, and provide for your every need.

For now, the church office will remain closed, all events are postponed, and our staff is working remotely during normal business hours until further notice. If you have a need to come by the church (to drop off your tithes and offerings or drop off food or household items for the Food Pantry), please contact us at 317-856-3766 or by email at info@valleymillscc.org to arrange a time for us to meet you.

Update 3-25-20:

Due to continued recommendations from officials and medical professionals, and per the Stay-At-Home Order that was issued  by Governor Holcomb, we will continue to hold our Sunday service online only on Sundays at 10AM until further notice. Join us for Sunday worship on Facebook (facebook.com/Valleymillscc), YouTube (Valley Mills Christian Church channel) or on our website at valleymillscc.org.  We’re so grateful for technology that allows us to continue to have church online and know that God will still meet us as we worship together! The Sunday service can be replayed anytime after the initial posting at 10AM. The church office will be closed, all events will be postponed, and our staff will be working remotely during normal business hours until further notice. If you have a need to come by the church (to drop off your tithes and offerings or drop off food or household items for the Food Pantry), please contact us at 317-856-3766 or by email at info@valleymillscc.org to arrange a time for us to meet you. FOOD PANTRY UPDATE:  The Valley Mills Christian Church Food Pantry will continue to offer drive-through (only) food pantry services on Fridays from 9AM – Noon. In order to protect our ministry volunteers, we ask that recipients maintain social distancing of at least six feet by driving up to our entrance, checking in at the church door, opening their trunk, and then returning to the interior of their vehicle while our volunteers load the bags for them.  Additionally, as we anticipate higher than normal need for basic necessities to help our community, we encourage continued donations of non-perishable food items and basic household items. We love you and are working tirelessly to offer you opportunities to connect with us and others online, get the help and ministry you need, and walk in peace during this time.

Update 3-16-20:

Effective immediately, all programming, meetings and gatherings on the church property have been suspended through at least Sat. March 21st.  This includes all Bible Studies, small groups and meetings this week including the Food Pantry. The Valley Mills Christian Preschool has also suspended classes until Tuesday, April 7th. This decision reflects the desire of Valley Mills’ staff and elders to join the broader community in efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

We will continue to BE the church; we will simply have to do that differently for the time being.  We encourage you to utilize our Breeze online directory (click on the “people” tab on your account at https://valleymillscc.breezechms.com/) as a way to stay in touch with your church family to offer your support, care and love.  If you have not created your account yet, click on the “create account” link on the sign in screen and follow the instructions to set up your account. We love you and are praying for you and your families’ continued safety and well-being and for all those who have been affected by this virus. We’re also praying for a cure and for our medical community as they deal with the impact of this crisis.
*Note: All of these dates and plans are subject to change based on any future developments regarding COVID-19.

Leadership will continually evaluate ongoing guidelines and recommendations for public safety and risk reduction in order to make the best choices for our church family regarding corporate worship and fellowship opportunities. Please stay tuned for ongoing updates via our church website, social media platforms and your email.  You may also contact the church office at 317-856-3766 with questions about specific scheduled events and whether they will be held or not.

As we navigate the days and weeks ahead, it is important that we, as Christ-followers, are engaging with these concerns in a Christ-like way. While it is crucial to be informed, sensitive and wise in the way we approach this outbreak, it is equally crucial that we conduct ourselves in a way that reflects our confidence and trust in God who offers hope regardless of circumstance. We encourage you to take this as an opportunity to display peace rather than panic, prayer rather than fear.

Continue to exercise caution and wisdom when out in public places. Also, it takes about twenty seconds to pray the Lord’s Prayer. Throughout the day, as you wash your hands or are taking safety precautions, think of the Lord’s Prayer and reflect upon the love of God for you and His ongoing peace, presence and purpose in your lives, even during times like this.

Keep in mind, things are changing on a daily basis so look for updates about church gatherings and events through email, on the church website and social media platforms. Also, this would be a great time to reach out to people you know in your groups or friendship circles who may not have the ability to access this online information and share this news with them.

Additionally, this would be an extra special time to remember to be the hands and feet of Jesus to all those you may encounter daily.

With God’s help and support from one another, we will get through this. Please keep us aware of any prayer requests or emergency situations you may have.

In Christ,
