5TH SUNDAY SERVE DAY!

SUNDAY, JANUARY 31
ONE 10AM WORSHIP SERVICE
& SERVE PROJECT FOR LOCAL NURSING HOME/REHAB CENTER

At Valley Mills we believe in building relationships through the outreaching of the love of Christ. We work to show the love of Jesus in our families, to our community, our nation and throughout the world.  Throughout the year, each month there is a 5th Sunday, we gather together as one large family at ONE 10AM worship service and participate in a “SERVE” project!

Our Serve Project for this 5th Sunday, Jan. 31 is to show the love of Christ through our support of the medical and office staff of our local nursing home and rehab center at Decatur Township Center located on Tincher Road. We encourage everyone between now and January 31st to bring in snack donations to help fill their break rooms as a way to thank and encourage them as they face some of the most trying times some has ever seen as most have been asked to go above and beyond in their positions during this Covid crisis.

SNACK DONATIONS NEEDED:
“Individually-wrapped” snacks of all kinds.  Please have all snack donations returned to the church by Sunday, January 31st.  A box IS provided in the Worship Center Foyer near the Welcome Center Table.

SIGN THE ENCOURAGEMENT NOTE:
We also ask that you please write a short note of encouragement for them on the large card that is beside the Welcome Center Table on Sundays!

ONE 10AM SERVICE:
On JAN. 31ST we will have ONE COMBINED FAMILY TIME SERVICE AT 10:00 AM.  Kids nursery age thru Kindergarten can attend classes in Valley Kids on this day We look forward to having all of our Valley Mills family together to worship as one large family– social distancing-style of course!

VALLEY MILLS’ SMALL GROUPS!

Small Groups are the perfect way to get connected at Valley Mills.  By joining a small group, you can learn more about the Kingdom of God, participate in a fun activity, or find a fun group of people to study God’s Word with.

There are 3 types of small groups:
1) Life Groups meet in homes and focus on relationships and growing deeper in Christ together; 2) Bible Studies are informative groups that dive into God’s Word; and 3) Special Interest Groups are gatherings of people getting together to engage in various activities (crafting group, board game group, etc.)

If you have an interest in joining any of these groups, have an interest in leading a group or have questions about existing groups, contact Joe McNeil, Spiritual Growth Coordinator, at joemcneil@valleymillscc.org or at 317-856-3766.

VALLEY MILLS CHRISTIAN CHURCH’S
VALLEY OF HOPE  |  Addictions Support

Valley of Hope Addictions Support is our new ministry umbrella for our growing addictions, recovery, and family support services.  These services include our faith-based 12 step program, our Parents of Addicted Loved Ones (PAL) program, our subsidized individual and family counseling services, and our partnership with the Decatur Township Drug-Free Coalition Recovery Coach program.  Our Valley of Hope Addictions Support program is an example of needs-based evangelism and local missions right here in Decatur Township.  For questions, please contact Robin Paul through the church office or visit the website to learn more HERE!

PAL (Parents of Addicted Loved Ones)
All Family Members Welcome to Attend (18 & over)
Every Thursday from 6:30- 8:00 PM

People helping people through the woods. PAL groups meet weekly to educate, support and help each other with issues arising from loving someone with an addiction. Each PAL group is facilitated by a peer, someone walking the same path. While the focus is on parents with an addicted child, all family members and friends (age 18 and older) are welcome to attend PAL meetings. These weekly meetings are open to the community.  Contact Robin Paul at 317-856-3766 or robinpaul@valleymillscc.org with questions.

COUNSELING SERVICES AT VALLEY MILLS!

CLICK HERE TO REQUEST A COUNSELING APPOINTMENT

Pastoral staff are always willing to provide support and spiritual guidance at no cost, but sometimes life stressors result in the need for deeper psychotherapy with certified or licensed counselors who have specific training in understanding clinical etiology and bio-physical chemical imbalances.

Board Certified Pastoral Counselor (Dr. John Nolan) offers counseling appointments to anyone from Valley Mills Christian Church OR the community for a substantially reduced rate of $30 per one-hour session during his office hours at church on Wednesdays from 2-6 pm. To schedule an appointment, please contact Dr. Nolan at 765-676-5310. We hope that this initiative will bless our community members and families, as access to supportive emotional health services can be challenging.

Social Work Assistance:  In addition to counseling sessions, the church also employs a part-time Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Robin Paul, that may be available to assist with short-term psycho-social needs and referrals, crisis intervention, and time-limited case management assistance for navigating complex medical and benefits systems that can feel overwhelming. Social work services (at a rate of $30 per one-hour session) may be consulted by calling the church office at 317-856-3766, or by emailing robinpaul@valleymillscc.org.

DO YOU KNOW YOUR SPIRITUAL GIFTS??

SPIRITUAL GIFTS ASSESSMENTS
AVAILABLE NOW HERE!

As a part of the body of Christ, God gives us each special gifts and calls us to use them for service.

This assessment will help you to know YOUR gifts and understand how you can use them. How exciting to be able to discover how God has uniquely designed YOU!

If you are not able to take online, a limited number of paper copies are available at the Welcome Center Table in the church foyer. Please be sure to return your results to the church after taking the assessment.

Please contact Joe McNeil, Spiritual Growth Coordinator, through the church office at 317.856.3766 if you need any assistance in taking the assessment or with questions regarding service and ministry opportunities at Valley Mills Christian Church.

The Valley Mills Christian Church Food Pantry continues to offer drive-through (only) food pantry services on Fridays from 9AM – Noon.  In order to protect our ministry volunteers, we ask that recipients maintain social distancing of at least six feet by driving up to our entrance, checking in at the church door, opening their trunk, and then returning to the interior of their vehicle while our volunteers load the bags for them.  Additionally, as we anticipate higher than normal need for basic necessities to help our community, we encourage continued donations of non-perishable food items and basic household items.

Our greatest inventory need right now includes the following:  Canned Soup and Mac ‘N Cheese!

Food Pantry donations can be dropped off at the church on Fridays between 9AM and Noon or by arranging a drop-off appointment through the church office at 317-856-3766 or email info@valleymillscc.org.

PLEASE NOTE:  HEARING ASSISTANCE DEVICES ARE AVAILABLE AT THE SOUND BOOTH IN THE WORSHIP CENTER EACH SUNDAY FOR THOSE IN NEED.
